It seems silly that kyocera keeps designing flimsy tabs. On one machine, it took me 1 hour to replace the conveying base and 2 months later same problem. Myself, I am dealing with this problem with 2 cassette guide screws to attach the feed assy to the base.

The Conveying base is currently on backorder. Usually that means a change is coming soon. We had another one break yesterday.

I think everybody is ordering them. Try the screws, they will work better than anything Kyocera will come up..

I think this is pretty much the same design they have had since the ST-10 (AI-3010). Something tells me they're not changing a thing!

I use a big glob of Plasticweld after cleaning the plastic and the metal with alcohol. I have done this to a couple of machines and both are holding well. Unfortunately, there are a few other problems that still elude me.

I got a replacement feed housing yesterday and decided to go with a screw in the plate. Kyocera made no change as of yet to the feed housing. I used a small flat head screw and came in from the bottom side. I drilled a 3/32 hole in the metal plate that holds the left feed roller in place, I counter sunk the screw in the plastic with a counter sink. This I believe is the best fix since it it not going to move. Have fun guys!

One more thing!!!
The tab may actually still be there But is IS going to be cracked!. I found two that were cracked and causing noise. You may find them with the tabs completely gone also. KJG relic tech...... |

Thanks for the info KGJ. That sounds like a good fix. I have a feed head I'll be rebuilding as soon as all the BACKORDERS come in and I'll give it a try.

I had the same problem last week with a 750. Ended up changing the entire conveying base. As was previously mentioned...it is a pain in the *you know what* to swap out all the parts from the old base to the new.

A well placed blob of J.B. Quick works wonders and is a hell of a lot cheaper and quicker....
