I had a call from a distributor that Sharp was no longer making Fax machines. We were using them for higher end fax - Oki for the middle and Samsung on the bottom end.
Anybody have any feedback about the Panasonic line? We have stayed away from the rebranded KM ones (as we try to do with any rebranded product) but have had a couple of National Account installs with them without issue...
We too have sold and serviced Panasonic fax for years. The new ones are not as easy to service as the older models, but they are no harder to repair than the Sharps. We have seen a number of Fuser Heat Roller Gear failures on the UF-8000's after about a year, it seems the less use the shorter the life of the gear.
I haven't seen them yet but my wholesaler says Panafax has gone back to the old style design...supposedly the 7000,8000 has been replaced with the 7200,8200 and they are now almost identical to the 880 design. If this is true things may be looking up again for Panafax. -Cope

The DP-190 series was horrible. We placed quite a few in accounts and we ended up having to replace a ton of parts. Dang near cost us our shirt with that series.
The DX-800 and UF-895 series machines were good machines. They worked well and were reliable. It's been a mixed bag really recently with Panasonic.
Also future of Panasonic as a whole I think is really up in the air. I have been waiting for the announcement that Canon or someone has acquired their office products division for the last couple of years as they continue to shrink their operations to hardily anything.
I worked on the Panasonic line at first, the manuals and tech support were awesome. Then we switched to the Samsung line and started working on those cheap machines because of the price of the unit. If I had my choice between Samsung and Panasonic I would choose Panasonic every time.
