We are looking at upgrading our dispatching system in the near future. I was wondering if anyone had any recomendations for computer software to automate the dispatching of calls and techs. Thanks for any input.

we use a system that is called "trackit". the program itself cost less than a $1,000 and is simple to use. it would be practical for any company with less that 800 placements and can keep up with open calls, calls pending for parts, maintenance agreements, call backs, etc.

We have been using Trackit for 2 years and it does a good job. The accounting side of it is a little weak so we use Quickbooks for that part of our business.

I see Tec- Aid has been marketing a patch to Quickbooks that tracks contracts and calls. I know that the early products from McGinnis was very lame, to say the least. I wonder how this patch is? It's called ServiceTrakGold, has anyone tried it?

We have used Track-it for 2 1/2 years. It is very basic on the service tracking side. It allows you to print up calls and keep history but other that it is not very good. The accounting side is a joke and it is not an active dispatch service so the person taking the calls really does not have a good idea of who is were and who is availible.
