For those without company vehicles, what is your mileage rate?
Technicians, does it cover your full expenses? Owners/Managment, do you plan on raising your rate due to increasing costs? Do you decrease when costs lowers? This message has been edited. Last edited by: Duke, |

We pay $500.00 per month plus a company credit card for gas, no one complains.

We do an option of .33 per mile or $400 a month plus .10 per mile. We give the tech the option based on his territory.

Thanks for the input. I am trying to get the boss to pay techs a reasonable amount. We are so far below the scale I'd be embarressed to post it.
I will present this info to the boss and hope a 'change' will follow. Keep those posts coming! |

I worked at one company that paid $100 extra a month if your vehicle was 5yrs old or newer. They figured you would have less problems and if you did break down the $100 would pay for a rental. Currently I get $0/$0 for mileage as my contribution for getting an HONEST company up and running. Not sure how long that can last.

Most replies sound not too bad. My wife has been a tech with Danka for 18 years. They took away company cars and use a system called runsheimer. Problem is they are about 3 months behind so she will get a check for gas prices which are outdated...

We finaly broke the .30 barrier which took a whole lot of convencing. At .30 a mile and gas now at $2.56 we are paying to drive to our calls. I traded my mazda p/u in for a gas sipping toyota. It pretty much just evened out.

Here in Fresno, CA gas is 2.7x per gallon and still rising. Our techs get .35pm, and yes we are also losing $$.10 years ago we were getting .25 pm and gas was alot less (1.50+/-)
Beware of what you are becoming while on the road to what you want. |

Here in the uk i get £180 a month and 40p a mile for the first 10k and then 25p a mile for the rest of the year, deisel is about 96p a litre.
Or you can have a company car and let the goverment take about £100 extra in tax out of your wages. |

With gas hitting $3.00+ a gallon, we just increased mileage reimbursement from $0.375 to $0.40 per mile. Am not sure how we will recover this from customers.

The IRS has raised the rate to 48.5 cent per mile until at least Dec 31.

We get $300 a month plus $0.095 a mile here in California (Bay Area). I had to start driving a Geo Metro so I could afford to eat something besides Top Ramen.
But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd. |
