I really need to get into a different software package to manage our business.
I also really don't want to break the bank.

What software are you guys using out there?

Please let me know if you recommend it or hate it.

We ran OMD for YYEEEAAAARRSSS, but have recently changed over to "E-Automate". Our company is loving the new software. It's also expandable and has a much better gui than OMD.

We've also implemented something called "Remote Tech" for our technicians to self-dispatch and close their calls. We're still in learning mode though.

BTW, Support is much better than OMD too.

We use E-automate also.

No issues to complain about.

We've been using E-Automate for 3 to 4 years now. Very good software, easy to learn and use, upgradable to SQL Server.

We use the network version of track-it for service tracking along with quickbooks for accounting. A little double entry but it works.

Sometimes I wonder "Why is that frisbee getting bigger" and then it hits me.

Actually, index cards are way too expensive. Effective immediately I am requiring all of my technicians bring any test copies and maintenance reports they have printed at customer's office back to the office so that we can use the paper.

By the way, Dustin - just what is my 'type of dealership' since you seem so knowlegeable?

How is your staff liking E-Automate? How is the Remote Tech piece working for you?

We need to make a change too and had looked at E-Automate and LaCrosse a while ago. Didn't make a decision at the time and am hoping to hear the real scoop on E-Automate from users.

We use tech-star and it's "OK" we dont use the untire module, just service call monitoring but it has many more capabilities...ie inventory, integrates with Accounting etc...

sdds_ca,
I must say, we were surprised with how few snags we came upon with the changeover. It wasn't seemless, but were actually expecting MUCH worse. Once we got everything changed over, our staff is really digging it. We've only begun tapping into the potential that it has.

Our technicians really like using the Remote Tech Software to dispatch themselves and close their calls. 90% of them actually said that Remote Tech is the best improvement the company has made in the past year. I'm not sure what "Lacrosse" is but if you do go to E-Automate, I don't believe you'll be disappointed. But remember, the software is only going to be as good as those that are using it understand it. In other words, be sure to take Digital Gateway up on the training courses they provide.

Good luck!
Dan

We have used LaCrosse for about 15 years and need to either upgrade to NextGen or switch to another software. We are considering E-Automate due to the outragous costs involved with LaCrosse. My main concern is the transition from one software to another and how it will impact productivity. My other concern would be is E-Automate as good as LaCrosse's NextGen. Is there anyone out there that could comment on your experiences with E-Automate or NextGen? Thanks! Betty
