With gasoline topping the $3.00 per gallon mark today, does anyone plan on charging a fuel surcharge? We are talking about a flat fee of $5.00 for every delivery (we have been doing it for free for 35 years) $10.00 for every a.s.a.p. delivery, raising our hourly rate $5.00 per hour, and adding a $5.00 fuel surcharge to contracts as they renew. Any other strategies out there to compensate for this insanity?

We have been charging $20.00 delivery on toner for a few years now. We will be raising our hourly rate and our service contracts accordingly as they renew. Harder for us to add the surcharge. Got alot of complaints that calls were related to last one, should have fixed the first time, etc. But, you are right. You must raise your rates and pass on the expense or give up your profit. any other thoughts.
