I need to get some idea of how much to charge for contract pricing on the smaller printers like 1020, 1920 ,3820 . We just started selling printers. Is the toner and drum units included?
Any info would be very helpful.
Thanks, Jim

we are in a rural area and our customers are used to ordering via the internet. therefore we offer two basic plans for small printers:1.buy all supplies from us and we will service the machine free - we mark up the toner/drum an add'l. 20% and parts are not included. 2. Our labor only agreement is $195.00 per year as long as we get the supply business.

We sell the advanced exchange warranties. Just mark up the warranty cost 40% and take your profit up front with no risk of loss. When the printer fails the user calls the heldesk if it can not be fixed over the phone a replacement unit is shipped overnight. The user then puts the failed unit in the box, uses the return label provided and the problem is solved. Check out the costs for the 1010 and 1020 models. We have sold just over 6,000 of these warranties and it works great and is very profitable.
2 Year Warranty, Advanced Exchange - $129.00
3 Year Warranty, Advanced Exchange - $209.00
5 Year Warranty, Advanced Exchange - $309.00

Do you ship the machine with toner in them ?
Do you empty the developer unit of toner before shipping?

The machines will not ship with toner in them is causes a terrible mess. We have figured out how to empty the developers of toner. It took a little while to figure out how to exchange Kyocera printers but now with a 2 piece, foam in place, package and high quality box our DOA'S are actually lower than on the new units.

We also sell onsite warranty programs for printers. Under these programs the selling dealer gets the service call and is paid by ISI for labor and we supply the parts. The compensation is $125.00 per call and all parts. These programs take the risk out of printer service contracts for the dealer. Here is an example of o how this works. The dealer sells the FS-3830 with PF-60. Dealer cost for the 3 year onsite warranty is $229.00 and sells for $499.00. Dealer just made $270.00 profit no risk of loss. Two years later the printer has a failed power supply and customer calls dealer for service. Dealer opens call with ISI replaces the power supply from their stock which will be replaced by ISI or uses part shippped by ISI and is paid $125.00 for labor.
