I had an install with Kyocapture and Sentryfile. When using the Route Connector for Sentryfile, the document would time out before it would sent into Sentryfile. The metadata would make it into Sentryfile and not the document. It ended up that AVG Business Edition was preventing it from getting there. Had to uninstall AVG and it worked. Just giving the heads up.

Had a similar situation with a client trying to scan to PC from a KM-C2525E using the utility. Had a heck of a time getting the unit to communicate with the PC. Turned out to be anti virus blocking the communication...got their IT to open up the workstation for this app and everything works fine...first thing to check these days I think.
