Unable to scan to host name? On smaller networks the easiest solution is to enable netbios over tcp/ip. Netbios gives name resolution much like dns only on the local network. It allows you to use the computer name in the host name field of the address book instead of ip address when using dhcp. We've all seen the check box on the KX driver that says Use Host Name for Port Name. If you don't have DNS or netbios from the DHCP server this is the only way to use the host name.
It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious. |
