I was on the Nuance web site formerlly Scan-Soft and they have a free pdf reader with OCR conversion. You have to send it to them through interface and they send it back via E-Mail so obvioslly it would only be used in non sensitive material conditions but it worked just fine. I sent over a lawnmower manual with Pics and everything converted no problem. Just mentioning this as a if not used much viable option. This is different than the PaperPort that comes with all new machines?

PaperPort (made by Nuance) has OCR but I don't brag about it because it always disappoints by screwing up fonts and margins.

Yea WeBe no kidding, Although during my conversation with the sales rep. with paperport only plane text will convert which is true in my opinion "just text" any lines,boxes, signatures,pics it will not do it. He went as far to say it's not conversion software in are opinion.
