Just found this yesterday after a frustrating afternoon trying to set up the SMB scan on a KM-3050. Try this link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=f285gE21kXA If it doesn't take you to the video right away you may have to search the video section for "smb scan" but is comes up on the top of the list. It is a BASIC tutorial but I found it very helpful.

A hard lesson learned in the last month, and possibly obsolete, but here goes:

SMB scanning to Windows NT 4.0 will work, however you can only scan directly to a shared folder. Trying to save to a sub-folder like you can with later OS will fail no matter what you try.
