I have lost 2 deals this week to the Ricoh 2238 C! What is the weakness of this copier?

True on the Adobe Postscript...This is a true Adobe Postscript3 option which will add about $1200 to the price. As for the scanning, there are no additional licensing fees for that unless you use the Ricoh Scan-Router Pro software that is really a non-issue anymore since Ricoh has taken most all of those features and placed them resident in the copier. The 2238C has LDAP and all the other stuff as well.

I work for a dealer that carries both Kyocera and Ricoh and the main issue that I run across in business color is that Kyocera really does not have a system in the price range of the 2232-2238 that will fit that business color bill for those who don't need graphic art quality. As for copy quality, the Ricoh does not compare to the KM-C3130 but for those companies who don't need more than a graphics color machine, it is more than adequate.

What I do in these situations is ask just how much color copying and scanning they think they will do as opposed to printing and if it is minimal and what they really need is a replacement for their B/W copier is to sell them a KM4035 and an FS-C5016N printer. That is a nice solution.
