Tell me about OKI color Copiers.

Our dealership is looking at picking up the line.
From what I have read they have a good warranty claim service and have a decent product.

I would like to know how they are to service and their overall reliability.

How is the color? I know it is fiery driven. (at least some models.)
How about connectivity. Scanning? Printing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Personally I think the image quality is fantastic. The best part is that there is little-to-none in the way of color calibration (it is what it is.....). Most of the machine maintenance is performed by the customer. All the units are customer replacible.

Now for the negatives: The manuals are worthless. The manufacturer is not too helpful on the hotline.

I see what you mean about tech support. If you have a network issue with an OKI, dont bother with tech support.
2 times I called and 2 times i worked it out myself.

Nice color. Love the new Fiery software!

Mark, what issues have you had? I have never had a bad drive on a Oki.

That tells me that you do not have any 3641's then.

Admittedly only 2 in the field, but they have been out there since April for one, and June for the other. So far so good, (jeff knocks on wood), so was hoping you might give me a heads-up. How fast was OKI able to get you a new drive?

Im being told that Fiery had a major system upgrade back in June/July of this year.

If the Fiery is not updated to the latest version you will have issues.

I dont know if this is related to your issue Mark, I just thought I would throw that out there.

We have 2 in the field so far and 1 in the show room with no real problems. 1 has 80k on it in just 3 months. They go through toner like mad!

We have a couple of 3640's that are working great. With the 3641 we have 2 that had cable errors and were locking up, the OKI rep. came out and put new hard drives in them and they seem ok so far. This week the OKI reps. came to install and train this Nat. acc. Out of 7 new machines that had to replace hard drives on 2 of them. For 7 new machines they brought 2 extra fax units 4 extra hard drives and some durm units. In other words the were expecting some problems. By the way these people are not happy with them
