I'm in awe of a lot your men's knowledge. What a great treat is this contest was won by a Dnet alum. Good luck to anyone who gives this a shot.

I'm excited about it.

I don't have some vast knowledge, but I'm pretty good at taking tests. When the Mita dealer did their contest I took 3 out of 5 years. When Ikon did thier contest I got to attend the finals 2 years out of 5.

I think it will be fun. I hope everyone here will participate. There is no stigma in doing badly, you might be surprised how well you do.

My question is, "How are they going to handle it, if 100 techs all score a 100% on the first test?" Are they also going to go by time? And then for round two and three, "Is it open note, open book or just by memory and the seat of our pants?" Hhhhhhmmmmmmmmmm!!!!! Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to it.....

Kyocera is running a contest for those tech's that attend the TASKalfa traing to find the best tech in the US. There is a bulletin on KMA Connect that explains it.

I'd love to see a DNET guru go all the way! Good luck to you all! I of course won't qualify... nor will any of the technicians on my team here (we're no longer a Kyocera dealer). It always amazed me how they (at Kyocera) frowned upon me and others using DNET, but then my boss got contacted the following morning by our Kyocera Regional Service Manager regarding an entry I posted here. How's he know what I'm posting on DNET if they don't use it? I also got shamed by another Tech Rep from Kyocera because he said that I use this site. Again... how's he know how much I'm using/posting on this forum if he's not on it himself? Cracks me up. I guess it's all the Political B.S. that has to take place in a large corporation. I've better be careful though, because now I AM PART OF A LARGE CORPORATION!!! I wish we could just be real and not have to play these stupid political games... well I'm running off on a tangent here. Good luck to you all again... and keep me posted on the outcome!

Dan, That's why I don't give my name or where I live under this handle if I am making any criticism of Kyocera and believe me I've got a few. I think if you are from a large corporation they would be less likely to give you a hard time. Maybe I'm wrong about that. I am with a very small company with a 20+ year relationship with Mita then Kyocera. We barely exist as far a Kyocera is concerned. I do wish everyone that is making a try for the trip the best of luck.

I have taken the online pretest. However we noticed at our office the prereq is classroom traing on a previous color model. A couple of techs do not have the option online for the pretest. It just does not show up in their courseware

I'm talking about the "Best Tech In America" test. It will be available online only after you complete and pass the regional training on the TASKalpha. Yes you have to be trained on the Voyager and pass the online pre training test to attend the Alpha class. Make sure your techs have not had their KMA Connect login info changed (usually because they never accessed it or forgot their password). We have a mgr who keeps adding tech info for signing on and 3 of our techs had 3 different logins for KMA Connect. Needless to say info was all over the place and the training history was not under the proper login. Just something to look at if your having problems accessing the online pre tests.

Soooooo..... Has anyone taken the "Best Tech in America" test yet? How did you do? I heard only 7 out of over 110 in the Midwest passed the test. You need at least 80% to pass....
