I don't think anybody will notice too much of a change though. I'm leaving a Kyocera dealer to take a service manager position at a Copystar dealer. Same city, just a much smaller company. Just wanted to give a head's up to anybody out there that I've met or corresponded with personally.

Good luck, I work in Milwaukee and one of the long time techs still has your business card when you were a Mita and Gestetner dealer.

Dear Imaging God,
Welcome to the wild world of Service Management. If you thought you heard about a lot of dissatisfied customers before (or disgruntled Field Technicians for that matter), put your seatbelt on! Drop me an email if you need to vent or would like some simple collaboration! I'm sure you'll be a great Service Manager! Curious... about how many will be on your team? Dan Hill |

It's just me and one tech right now, and most likely will be adding another tech by the autumn. I'm still learning some of the ropes, the new place I'm at carries more product lines than the place I left. That means I am a bit of a rookie again on those machines I'm not so familiar with. That's right, I do more field work now than I was doing at my last position. It's a pretty small company right now, so it is really a good way for me to dip into the management without taking on a big department immediately. I had a few customers with ruffled feathers (some ruffled by me too) but I've learned from each of those experiences and I strive to improve all the time right now. I just hope I improve enough by the time I have my first performance review. ================================================== Chris L's Hiking/Geocaching blog (new and improved!) yoyoartist.blogspot.com |

It is always a bit different when changing jobs, same problems, different name over the door. for me it is the management above you and how much room they give you to do the job, I hope you are allowed to make choices and make a difference in your new role.
it's more like a big ball of wibley-wobbley ... timey-wimey ... stuff. |
