In other words - throw it away. Or, better still - don't buy it.

Relax? When?!

LMAO

As I see it, the C1020 is warranted for 1 year, with a life expectancy of 1 year at 15,000 pages per year.

And I thought OKI color costs were high.

If the machine life were only 1 year and KM 'states' the MAX yield per month is 15k; at 1 year that's 180k. No way a fuser and transfer belt lasts that long in a tabletop.

I was thinking of the MFX-C3400...The 2500 is a Sammy rebadge.

MFX C 2500 > Samsung CLX 6240 FX
MFX C 3400 > Okidata MC 860 MFP

At the end of the day, it looks very easy to service. The online class was a breeze. If they could just get the consumable costs down....

I was mildly scolded by a KM Rep for my somewhat inflammatory thread here...
His point being that we should give the machine a chance before we slam it. Well let's face some reality here. Sales people have a tendency to place equipment not by need but by price.
Knowing this and the expense of the parts and consumables, we will fight to make money in accounts where customers will run the crap out of it because the spec say it'll do a MAX monthly of 15k. Of course we all know that max is not a consistent measure but customers will wave their sales brochure in our faces and tell us that is unacceptable; make it run. In the end I hope I am wrong, apparently some of the rest of you think not.
In the end sales will shove these out the door in a piss poor economy to make their quota. I have already seen the vultures circling the carcass. It's not Ricoh that will make this a bad experience. The machine is what it is and is not meant to be what it will likely be sold as!
