Our service VP was doing pricing for our sales reps for this abomination today. No price or specs for fuser life. Get this....the fuser is $866.00 US Dollars, COST! I called Dave Allison in parts and asked him to check if someone fat fingered the price. Nope! However KM has changed the price after my phone call. Dave called me back and the COST is now $690.00. Cost on the entire Machine is $721.00. We are now debating whether or no to even carry this model.
Excuse me but WTF?!
And now I am told that training on the new Toshiba color model is Dallas only. No regional training.
With products like these, it's going to be a long few years!

Do your selves a favor and print off banner sized signs to place in your sales department and your sales staff's windshield reminding them that this model does should not exist and should not be sold under any circumstance.
My experience with models like this is that even if you give them away as a promotion with another model, the customer will be so pissed when they have to spend a ton of money they won't even ask you next time they need something.
Get it in gear KMA!! Quit wasting time and resources with four different models of the same printer and put out undeniable values for the customers with great operating costs and performance. Don't play the garbage game!
I completed training on this today. It's built a lot like an Oki. It's got a row of four All-In-One Cartridges over a transfer belt, but not as easy to service. For really, really, really low volume users it might be OK. Until the first maintenance, then tossed in the trash. =^..^=

come on black give the riso the benefit of a doubt u know very well kyo cannot hit one good low segment color printer, i wonder whos fault is it...LOL..try oki color is not bad @ all...
Based on 5% coverage (yeah right), after the first 1000 copies you'll need to install 4 AIO's. If you're charging $0.18 for color you will have made $180.00. The units will cost $525. An immediate loss. No Thanks!

From what I can see in the Release Bulletin the only express warranty on consumables is on the All-In-One: 90 days, or until the AIO is depleted (whichever comes first).
The transfer belt and fuser are not listed as consumables, and then would be subject to the "defects in workmanship or material..." of 12 months from purchase, or 15 months from invoice date.

"Consumable parts [are] specifically excluded from this warranty."
Although a yield for these is not stated in the bulletin, pretty much anything that moves paper or touches paper or touches toner is a consumable part designed for a specific yield - and would be excluded (except for the IU's which are defined).
To warrant these items would require a stated yield - otherwise as long as the user isn't exceeding the duty cycle they would have to replace the units. At 15K per month, the units would have to exceed a yield of 165K to make it.

I'm pretty sure (if it's the same machine I'm thinking of) That Muratec CMFP is a rebadged Oki. Knowing Muratec they made have made a deal to keep that Oki box from being rebranded by anyone else. Just a thought -Cope

Lasts the life of the machine??? What's the life of the machine? Give me copy counts. How many copies is considered the life of this machine? As far as cost per copy, that indeed is how they keep the cpc low, by giving you an unrealistic life expectancy for parts and consumables.
