I have a problem with alot of the technicians that post a problem on these sites, but never enter in the solution that fixed the problem that they posted. I try to do this on all of my post and it would be nice if everyone else did likewise.

It's a bit of a reflection on the types of people who post. Some (like me) try to learn stuff by reading other people's experiences, and give information when I have it. Others just sign up to get a quick answer to a problem because somebody told them to try this site. They get what they need and go away until they need a quick answer once again.

For me, it's a way to keep the brain working, and to learn from those smarter than me. I am often reminded of fixes I've forgotten long ago.

I've always enjoyed mental exersizes of this sort. Wouldn't it be boring if we always knew the answer right away? I don't think that I could survive a factory job for that reason. There's no challenge in something I already know how to do. =^..^=

I'm uneasy about interrupting a more current/popular thread with "that did it, thanks" (especially if the responding tech was confident about his answer)

That being said, I agree that a thread can be worthless when left inconclusive, I only wish there were a way to post a reply without headlining it.

I feel if no result was posted, it was a tech induced problem. Even if it was my fault I still post the final result. We all make mistakes and if someone learns from mine then I am happy.

I couldn't agree more. The point of this forum for me, is to learn something. If all these people want to do is to just take and not contribute then may be some of these people could be block from posting for a little while.

Wow DT! - that was your anti-christ post (#666) LMAO

I agree - I'd always like to know if a suggestion worked or not.

I'd also like it if people wouldn't post without searching the forums first...

Relax? When?!
