Had a customer that needed to get the Full Scan. I know the old machines had this. I contacted the hotline. He had me go to the border-erase function, turn it on, set it to 0.00 and the scan came out, edge to edge. WTF, stupid. If you have a older product that has it, why not put it on the new ones.

just a thought.

The way I remember how "full scan" came about was with the very first Falcon I machines. When you scanned a PDF, the document would report as being a little bit smaller than 8.5x11. It sometimes caused problems with printing the document later. They hastily added a "Full Scan" feature with a firmware upgrade that added blank space around the image to make it report to Adobe as a full 8.5x11 size. It didn't scan edge-edge at all, it just made the pdf file the correct size. That is how I remember it working on all other NS-30 based scanners after that.

Actually Chris - that only worked on Falcon I's - Falcon II's weren't quite 8.5x11 no matter what you did.

We initially won a placement with a law firm because something in the court system required the scan to be exactly 8.5x11 or it wouldn't accept it, so some poor lady had to re-render everything they scanned with their Sharp in order to upload it. The KM4030 would do it just fine. We have since replaced their other copier but have to keep the KM4030 around since none of it's successors have been able to do this.

Doedee - does it show 8.5x11 in the document properties when scanned the way you describe?

Relax? When?!

We lost a six machine upgrade(all 6030's to 620's)plus facility management contract with a law firm because of the same problem Scotty described. Thanks Kyocera.
