I am surprised there has not been any uproar about the toner price increase on March 1 for certain models. Most popular are the 3035/4035 4530/5530 FS-9100/9500/9120/9520.

Kyocera has good machines but the toner cpc is on the higher end and this increase pushes it further up.
I get a kick out of the statement that the price increase is " Due to rising manufacturing & logistical cost". It's all the same toner - 2530/3035/4050/420 etc.. I guess the cost only affects this older models.

The one that confuses me is the 552ci and FS-C8500.

The black toners for each are close in price but the color prices!

The 8500 is based on the 552 engine but the color toners are double the price for the same volume! WTF!!

and if any of you more intrepid souls out there have ever been in a bind, falcon 3 toner poured into a falcon 2 toner container works just fine. It al comed from the same barrel, just put in different boxes so you have to buy more.

Gene - You are right, I never looked that close to the color toner pricing, assuming it would be the same.
The toner pricing difference has to be a mistake.
It is insulting to us that Kyocera would even have this type of price difference.

The price for the printer is pretty good.

Perhaps these can be modified to take the copier toner?

50 PPM color w/tabloid selling for under 5K with an M/A of $.05 for color M/A - that would be a pretty easy sell. Heck - bridge them over to color on that model - sell 'em an FS-1128 and one of these.

Wait!!! NO Uproar starting here...I was just celebrating finally signing a 1.5 Million page contract on 2 9520's next week...HOW MUCH of an increase are they talking about?

OK...looked back at this post with a clearer head and saw the 7%...Is there any kind of bulletin about this that could possibly be e-mailed or such? At 1.5M it could cut my margin a little but I don't think it will be a major impact on my CPC at .00014 per click but if it starts building up it would be nice to have official documentation to support my contract's language.
