I have had this issue with several accounts, and I was wondering if anyone else has had customer express their frustration. Many clients will allow free usage for B&W Images, but they want to track color usage by PIN Number. As I understand it, Kyocera makes you enter a PIN for B&W and/or Color once the Copy Mgmt. mode is turned on. We have set up machines with a PIN of #9, so it is quick to select #9 & Enter for basic B&W copying, but several account have implied in this Day & Age, we cannot just track color usage... Have you run into this problem also? How or what do you say to calm the issue? Any thoughts..

Yes I have. People aren't thinking straight.

The term "track" means you have to identify.

Once they realize that identifying takes up precious time, they lose interest.

Just tell them that have an office memo saying

COLOR IS EXPENSIVE, IF WE EXCEED 5K A MONTH WE WILL IMPLEMENT JOB ACCOUNTING

I'm not really following you, but you might check out the HyPAS program ColorLock: B&W is public access but you need a code to do color.

If they want to track who uses color, just give everyone account codes with full color access. The job accounting reports will split up color and B&W copies.
