Hi all,
Longtime lurker, first time poster. I've heard scuttlebutt that KMA won't offer Hotline support on any Falcon III "i" machines. I didn't even know they existed 'till I installed one a few weeks ago. When asked, the boss "suggested" I use a "real" ser# if calling Tech Support. That just doesn't sit right with me. I'd like to hear the DNET consensus on this. Younger riders pick a destination & go. Older riders pick a direction & go. |

While I wouldn't be surprised if they would only support Ikon on these machines (and possibly only for a contracted period of time), since their name (Kyocera's) is on it they shouldn't want customers to be mad just because Ikon isn't taking care of them. As a matter of fact they should want the complete opposite.
Ikon will likely inevitably not take care of these machines and blame Kyocera for the problems resulting from not properly maintaining them. While warranty will probably be a problem, KMA should really make exception for any Kyocera dealer who takes over these machines. It keeps Kyocera's foot in the door to upgrade them instead of Ricoh's..... Relax? When?! |

Does this make sense to anyone?
It's not unlike going to your local Ford dealership and buying a Focus. Now, Ford should really want your next car to be an Escape, but the dealership you bought it from is now a Chevy dealer and is telling you what a lemon your Focus (that they sold you) is. When you drive your car over to the new Ford dealer they tell you that Ford corporate has instructed them not to work on your car. Now you're really ticked at Ford and you go back to the original dealer and buy a Chevy. BAD PLAN. Kyocera should be falling all over themselves making sure every Kyocera built Ikon machine is taken care of better by a Kyocera dealer than Ikon would have ever done. I think it's pretty clear that Ikon won't be buying anything else from Kyocera, so why let Ikon tarnish Kyocera's image???? Relax? When?! |

I have called kma support with a question, used the serial number from the 4050i, and when asked for model number simply replied km 4050. I was given support by 2 diffrent hotline guys, no questions asked

The 'Official' word I got was to stay away from these - different firmware, compatibility issues and KMA contracted to NOT touch them at all...
Relax? When?! |

Ya , I hear the same thing from our rep, KM parts wont work in them, drum errors, fuser errors galore. I am VERY interested if anyone has one these and has tried putting KM parts in yet.

Mark don't read this!!! OK now that I know he's not reading let me tell you we've had 1 out for over a year with no problem & upgraded firmware with no problem. Sim 265 is different & the toner drive gear is different but other than that they are the same, they are the same, they are the same!!! And in case there is any doubt they ARE THE SAME!!!
