How are the rest of you saving the settings on heavily networked machines?? I ran into a Falcon3 today where the HD had crapped out entirely, taking all the settings with it.Now this machine is really spider webbed into a funky 2 piece network, one local and one on a separate remote domain, rebuilding the scan and email data is gonna suck. So.. my question to you, fellow D-netters is this.. what are YOU doing to back up the dreaded "everything" machine? =========================== Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that. - G. I really wish they'd come up with something for this - for more than one reason. The first - as backup as you mentioned. It would be nice to be able to offer it as a service - maybe sell them a flash and hang it on the back of the machine. Secondly - it would be great to be able to setup all of the default settings as a template to use on new machines. I've setup my own mail server on port 80 and it would be really cool to just insert the flash and have the bulk of the settings done. It would be even cooler if you could use variables in the machine email address and default webpage - like %serial%_%model%@mycopiercompany.com and www.mycopiercompany.com/servicerequest/?=%serial% Relax? When?! | |||
