They're pretty tight lipped. (no pun intended). Heard about the meeting, but that was it..

Heard the same thing today from a reliable source. They wont't say who but they say it will be segment 5 and 6. To be announced next month. Best guess would be Canon. Please no Konica this time.

Please not anything that's going to have a 1000% 3rd party mark up on parts...(KIP!)

Yep - it's all the same except it's 'TaskAlpha 750c' etc. Also reference to an 'A4 printer based device' - I'm guessing this an an MFP based on the C5200 series???

It also said the new 6030/8030 replacements would be 'TaskAlpha' branded.

I also found it interesting that it talked about 'Kyocera developed Talkalpha product warranty' - which further implied to me that the 750c series would not be Kyocera developed (also - they only have 80gb HDD's - a big step backwards from the 500ci with it's dual 160gb drives in stripe mode for 320gb total.)

If this is (and it sure looks like it is) Toshiba, it'll be pretty darn difficult for me to sell any of them.

Toshiba has corporate owned sales offices all over my territory. As a matter of fact, they bought out one of the big KM dealers near me which spurred the new dealer agreements they sent out a few years ago - the ones with the 'First Right of Refusal' baloney clause.
(In case you don't know - it basically says if we want to sell our dealership we have to offer it to KMA first and give them something like 6 months to think about it while the offer goes away....)
