I'm going to start this thread early. First off, United Airlines sucks. I had to fly out of O'hare instead of Midway so I ended up flying United. When we got to Dallas it was 10:50 p.m. about 10 min. early. We didn't get our luggage until 11:40 p.m.. For those of you who have been to DFW the baggage carousel is right outside the concourse when you de-plain. I could have ran back and forth myself and got everones luggage to them by the time it started coming up the ramp. It gets better. I took the Supershuttle to the hotel. The driver had no idea where he was going. He had a GPS but decided not to use it. I've been to Dallas abou 20 times over the past 8 years and I could have driven the van to my hotel in half the time it took this dork. Needless to say he spoke very bad english. I shouted out that he passed the exit as did several other passengers that were supposed to get off before me. He finally got off the x-way and pulled into the parking lot by The Outback steakhouse about 1 mile up the road. He sat there for about 5 min. trying to figure out where to go. The two other people that were supposed to be dropped off before me finally called someone to come and get them and they got off the shuttle. The driver gave them their bags and then we proceded to go to my hotel. Upon arrival I paid the guy, be-grudgingly the $17.00 fair and went around back to get my luggage. Son of a beach ball, my luggage got off the shuttle at the Outback with the other two passengers. Now I'm really pissed and jumping up and down screaming. The people at the front desk of the hotel came out to see what was going on. I just said screw it and went in to register as the driver was going to go back to the Outback to try and retrieve my luggage. While I was registering, it's now 12:35 a.m., I received a call from the people with my luggage ( I just got new luggage and put a phone number tag on it at the airport) and they said they would wait for the guy and trade. After about 15 min my luggage was safe and sound and spread out all over my room. Hey, the Holiday Inn is pretty nice and the staff is great so far. It's right by the Red Lobster. Well, i'm going to sleep, so I'll check in tomorrow with an update.

Anywho, you can walk to the circle spur if you want. It's across the highway. Cess-pool if you ask me. Class was better than I thought. The instructor is Keith McManus. The only other instructors are Keith Graham (yawn) and Claude LeBrun (double yawner). It's McManus teaching this class. So far the machine looks like a pretty sturdy machine. Set-up is pretty simple and Keith mentioned no problems setting up 5 machines for class. No manual color registration adjustments to make, all automatic (reg can be done manually but why). Copy quality and color repro looks pretty good from what I see so far. I'll be checking that more tomorrow with files I have. Tomorrow we do removal of imaging units (also look to be very easy). Looking in the manuals there are a ton of adjustments and service modes, but no need to make them.
Hey texchar, am I far off or pretty close? Are you even down here? Any clues to texchars I.D.?
As far as Ed Abrams, he was there today, but it looks like he put on about 80 lbs. I guess the jazzer-size location closed down. Or the McDonald lunches being in service finally caught up with him.
I also talked with Dave Allison. I guess he cracked up his bike and his wife was badly hurt. He was off all last week and came back today. I guess she was in the ICU for several days, but doing better now. Couldn't talk too much as he had to get to work.. I'll try to get an update on his wife.

No surprise there. I like Keith he's funny as hell. Tell him Mike Plough (plow) still wishes to challenge him to either a pugil stick battle or a Tequila match for his Kyocera ring Z

I'll let him know tomorrow. Oh, by the way, I walked over to the Super Wal-Mart for food and found out Terrant county is no longer dry. They now sell beer & wine at the Wal-Mart ... About $6.00 for a 6 pack of Lite. Better than nothing.
Gazoo, from what i have heard so far from one of my ex-techs that now works for Tosh Direct, is that it is a solid machine. The only gripe he had was that the main charge sat right beside the cleaner unit. sounds like an Ai 2310 set up

313ZD : Keith just laughed and said no way for his ring, but any day for the battle or match.
About Dave Allisons wife. She's at home still laid up. Had broken ribs and a punctured lung, doing better. He said they were riding in a remote area, 105 heat and evidently hit a tar crack patch the wrong way that caused the accident.
Now to the machine. Like drewsup said the machine is a pretty solid machine. To say the least I'm impressed with the machine. Comes apart very easy, built extremely stury and well. Not very many if any assembly replacements, you actually rebuild them, ie: replace the drum and drum cleaning blade instead of the whole unit. Replace the transfer belt cleaning unit instead of the whole assy. The belt only needs to be replaced if it gets damaged. Its supposed to last the life of the machine as does the developer, Yea, the developer only gets installed when new, or if it gets damaged ie: high humidity area. Both are easy to replace if need be. Tomorrow we get into the Doc Feeder and Fuser. Fuser is also rebuildable instead of replaced.
drewsup : As far as the charger sitting by the cleaning unit it seemed to be ok. It uses and electrode instead of wires and on a machine with 35k on it, there wasn't any evidence of dusting. Time will tell..
Took apart the fixing section, removed laser unit and took apart optics. Strongly recommend having an extra fixing section and swap out for PM's in the field. Lots of parts to come off in order to PM the Fixing section. All in all not to bad. Everyting worked when we got it back together. Can't say the same for some of the guys. Not much in the optics to deal with and the laser assembly came out somewhat easy. One thing I can say about this machine, is every time we took something apart and put it back together, it worked the first time. You don't have to make a million adjustments like registration and stuff, it just worked. The best part is removing the covers. They are NOT interlocking to each other, so you only remove the covers you need to.
313ZD : did the paper clip thing but they didn't notice yet. They're making solid color copies, so it's not easily noticeable.
I'm not a big one on buying things, using them and then returning them. I do see the photo album. Hey texchar, got a camera or know if any of the guys do?
