I cover a big territory with every machine that Kyocera has, I used to drive a car until all the big PM kits started coming out then I got sick and tired of having to empty the car to make enough room for my parts and went to a van. Now with all these different machines coming out pretty soon I am going to have to start driving a semi to do my service calls.

I feel for you Techboy, proper parts management is an art form. Look on the bright side, Xerox and Oce techs have been dealing with these problems a lot longer!

I know it sounds kinda harsh, but we were encouraged to remove items from our car stock that were for the older machines. It usually meant that customers with older machines had to wait longer if parts were needed. Of course, while waiting for parts, a salesguy would try to sell them a new machine. A brutal, but effective way of weeding old, analog machines out of the field.
But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd. |

Don't know if this helps, but it's all I got rite now; for the falcon 1&2 machines, you can take them out of the HUGE box that they are in and fit them into one of the smaller(drum or fuser) boxes that are within the HUGE box, leaving you with a resonable size box that holds everything, you have to make sure you get the f@#&ing serial number off the big box though before you throw half the rain forest into the dumpster. I drive a Matrix and can carry sevral kits. I do try to leave them in the big box until I know I need them though.

It sure makes things alot easier though putting in whole assemblies rather than breaking down everything into little peices like the old days.
