I feel your pain...
We were having fax problems, KMA said no one else was having problems, then they said that v4 was suppose to fix problems w/ fax, no help. Now v5 comes out talking about various fax problems, liars... Now, we are getting nailed on copy quality problems, not holding color on long runs, inconsist color. A church that had one for three months is now getting rid of the taskalfa and buying a sharp because of it. The Japanese need to take a hard look at these machines and get it right..

Never worked on Ricohs have you? The original Aficio 350/450 had 25 updates. I'm rather glad they ARE addressing firmware in a timely manner. Beats the old system of denial. Z

yo 313,
Our regional rep lives at our shop. We now put DSL Filters on the copiers before they even leave the shop. Next time you go to a task w/ a fax system w/ heavy volume of faxes, run a error log, sim 670 and you will be surprised.

I ended up buying 5 flash drives plus the one that the Service Manager gave me. Today I did three Task Alfas plus 2 5050s I started all of the downloads then went to the next machine down the street and put notes on all of the machines not to touch while Firmware is downloading. It took me a little over an hour to do the machines. I usually have to figure out where I am going the next day then I download all the software on my sandisk or flash drives at night and do it all over again.

I agree KJG .....We have waited as much as a year to year & 1/2 before we take the step towards the new models, by then most of the updates are in the equipment and the trips to the customer are far less.

same position here as KJG and copoykat. I work with a small company and we're very wary about new models. Even though, and i'm gonna regret this tomorrow, we just got into the taskalpha line and we're not really having that many problems with them as of yet. Here's hoping that it continues that way.

I wish we would have waited quote: Originally posted by KJG: My dealership has always been cautious about new models. It's been a good thing to hold back awhile and see how they run. We are a small company and cannot afford a poor choice in equipment. Better to take cautious steps than to jump into quicksand and sink....
