I'm just curious, how many of you who do network installs include utilities such as KMNet Admin, KMNet Viewer, ICLink, etc? Do any of you have any of these utilities installed on your laptops for troubleshooting purposes? I set up KMNet Admin in our office and configured it to send email alerts into our ticketing system when there are machine issues (so basically the machines generate their own service calls). I use ICLink every once in awhile for certain tasks, comes in handy. Kyocera has some really good software tools, I just wondered how many of you guys take advantage of them.

But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

1.) Yes all KM Utilities are loaded on all techs notebooks, we use them for troubleshooting all the time.

2.) We always load the Utilities on at least one customer workstation when installing the machine, we may or may not show the customer how to use it depending on the customer.

3.) IF we can have the machines Email reports directly to us we will set that up. Customers are amazed that the machine places its own service and supplies request.

What notices do you have report directly to you (and not the customer)?

If you turn those notifications on, doesn't it email you every time a paper jam occurs, or the machine's low on paper, etc., etc. ??

I'd set this up if I could have it only email our dealership when we actually need to go out there (like for service required error codes or something)... but i don't want 100 emails per day informing me that 10 of my customer's machines are simply low on paper...

In both KMNet Admin and the machines themselves, you can simply uncheck the boxes for "low paper", "low toner" and the like. I like using KMNet Admin for automatic email alerts because you don't have to configure every single machine (comes in handy when there are a lot of machines to keep track of).

Like CB said, if they have more than one machine use KMnetAdmin that is set-up on 1 of the cusotmers workstations/server to send the report for all their machines, if you can't install KMnetAdmin on a workstation you can program the machine itself.
