Has anyone found an alternate toner source for TK-827, TK-857 or TK-867 toner? How about Falcon I & II, that actually works and dosen't cause problems?

Steer Clear of Katun toner. Some one in our company went on a savings binge and bought alot of toners for the Falcon 2s and it has caused nothing but headaches. Doesn't properly mesh with the toner drive assembly, screws up drums and generally just runs extremely dirty by dusting alot from the DV unit. If you run it for very long you will start to notice small void areas if you run a MM U089 full gray page. Pull the drum and their will be "Waxy" little dots all over the drum surface. In some cases it has caused fuser problems also. Buyer beware, also if you have a problem and call the Kyocera tech rep in for assistance and they find out that non OEM toner is being used, they will not do anything to help until the DV unit is either totally cleaned out and replenished with OEM toner, or replaced. Gamble if you want but Katun toner costs more in parts replacement and wasted service time in the long run.

never a fan of aftermarket toner....

An easy way to ruin a good reputation is to lower standards.

I have always told my customers never to order aftermarket toner. I surely wouldn't want to start.

mono after market toner seldom is a good idea,

Dual component seems less problematic

I would not use it in these machines

Yeah, Katun toner is horrible. Polek & Polek toner is probably the worst, though. You'd be better off using Koolaid mix in your machine than that stuff. I would stay away from any aftermarket toner, not worth the headaches...

But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

I just ran into a customer this morning using after market toner in his machine with an OEM toner in his drawer. He did not ask me why when I took his out of the machine and put in the OEM toner. Get enough problems with this business without trying to figure out crappy toner issues.

Come to think of it I had another customer last year, toner not adhering to the page, background on the second side. He was a chargeable customer. I found out that he was taking the Falcon one toner container tipping it upside, he would then poor in his leftover Cannon toner into the container. I threw out the toner container, rather than letting the bad toner recycle through the machine I put in a new DV unit, drum, toner and billed him for all three.

Good one Techboy, sometimes hitting in the wallet is the only way to make them understand. Once has a customer put 10w40 in the silicone fuser oil tray on a Canon Np270. After the smoke cleared out of the office, he got billed for new fuser and silicone oil pan, needless to say, never happened again.
