Has anybody taken the 2011 service award test? Do you get your score right away? I just took the test but my score is not being displayed, the only score I can see is last years dated 6/24/2010.
We had a tech that tried taking it this year, but could not because he took it last year. Not sure if you can only take it once or if you can take it annually.

There was some kind of problem when it first went up. It should be fixed now. If you still have trouble call Chuck Powell at the training center in Dallas. He was able to get me fixed up.
You only have until the end of tomorrow to take the online test. There is no reason that you don't take the test. It's online and you have 55 minutes. I won $1500.00 last year and shooting for + this year. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Gazoo,
Kyocera extended the deadline to July 5th for the online portion of the competition, so you still have time to enter. Hope to see some d-netr's again this year.
I got 2nd place National the first year KM did this. I'm of the opinion, been there and done that. It was a cool experience but I have no desire to do it year after year. Good luck to you Gazoo. Z

Congratulations to Mike Parmer out of Lancaster PA. Mike won the National contest this year, they said it was a very close competion between first and last place, they put some good bugs in the machines this year, tough to find. I ended up last, it was a little tough to swallow but someone has to get it, and I guess it was me. Congrats to Mike and all the other technicians it was a good field.
I wanted to put my two cents in on the Kyocera Test in Dallas, and give everyone a heads up on what to expect if they make it next year.
The Test was very easy this year, can not speak on previous years. No prescribe or Hypass questions, no questions on Kyocera Utilities, nor Kyo Caputure. It was mostly on accessories for the new series. They had questions like how many originals could you put in the Document Processor, which is the 4000 sheet finisher, Does Bate Stamping come standard with the machines ( answered no because you had to add a gig of memory on the smaller ones) Had at least 5 duplicate questions that were either on the entrance test or the regional. Only one networking question. I felt like the guys down the hall taking the class on the new equipment could have done just as well as I did on the test. Then they went into the bugs of the machine, the first one was that it did not recognize your thumb drive, someone had the USB disabled on the machine. The Second one was that most of your yellow was missing and the trail edge of the blue was faded. It ended up being the yellow primary transfer roller out of place, just like the machine I set up this morning. The third was a connector unplugged on the relay board on the Secondary transfer roller. The board was on the assembly that you open up on the right hand side.
Then after lunch they have you meet in front of a panel of 5 or 6 people and they ask you customer service questions, and questions in general. Things like you have to put in a expensive part in a chargeable customers machine, how do you handle it. The last guy that worked on this machine did a crappy job, and that guy was you. The machine is going to be down for a few days what do you do for the customers. What made you decided you love working on copiers.
I thought 4 of the questions on the test were very subjective, and they never went over any of the results, to give you a look to see if you answered them right or a chance to prove their answer was wrong.
All in All I thought it was a fun experience, and glad that I took the journey. Mike the winner seemed like a very nice guy and will represent Kyocera America well over in Japan.
