Greetings All'Yall, this has to be the best thread ever(LOL). I am contemplating making the trip to da show on my ownn dime, it has the potential to be encredibly entertaining, and the mundane day to day is growing old.
I also would enjoy hanging with some of the (warriers, balls posessors, and other users of this forum. Talk me into the trip!!

Well well well. I'm gone from this forum for 6 months and all Hell broke loose. Who let Dummietek off his chain? Kidding Dummie. I know how you feel right now and respect you for standing up for yourself. I hope the repercussions aren't too much for you. Glad to know that you're in good spirits brother! I miss this forum.
Now that I'm a representative for SHARP, I don't have as much knowledge to share on the new Kyocera equipment (we don't have any). I hear it's pretty good though. Every now and then there is still an older Kyocera box in our territory that we still service that gives a bit of a struggle, but since Kyocera revoked our logins for KMA, we no longer have access to firmware files, bulletins, etc... so we take the high road and just replace it with a SHARP box. Sometimes free of charge to the customer... we might just simply transfer the service contract to the new box. Cuz if we can't support the Kyocera box efficiently, it costs us more money to keep trying and dumping money into it than to simply replace it and make money on a profitable machine. Additionally, it only makes the Kyocera name look like crap to the paying customer because that's the name they see on the box, and that's the box that's continually having problems because we can't support it efficiently anymore. And we (the servicing provider) look like heroes and keep the customers continued loyalty by just saying "Let's just take care of you right and bring you something you'll be happier with." I tried explaining this philosophy on a previous post long ago when Kyocera revoked our logins the first time (when SHARP first bought Kearns Business Systems) and guess what... they reinstated them! I respected them for that. But lo and behold, they revoked them again a couple months ago. I believe it's out of "bitterness", but who am I to speculate? There may be many factors that have arised that I'm not privvy to. But from where I sit, I thought it was a horrible shot to their own foot. Even if Ford sells a used Landrover... Landrover will still tow your car in for you free of charge because they don't want people seeing a Landrover broke down on the side of the road... it's bad publicity and can cause people to be gunshy of buying a Landrover. Landrover gets it... Kyocera doesn't. I have no ill will towards Kyocera even if they did find it necessary to try censoring me. I allowed them to do so out of respect to an individual... not out of respect to the manufacturer name. I'm not sure exactly what was said to your boss Dummie, but I can imagine it wasn't much different from my experience. This industry has become extremely "political" and is sickening at times, however, we must roll with the times and adapt if we are to survive and continue to be successful I suppose. I've learned that Corporate offices are not interested in "Constructive Criticism". It's usually best to keep that close to home. And providing it in a public forum online (even if you have the best of intentions) is probably going to fall on deaf ears or be turned around upon you with brimstone and fire. So what do you do? You just accept that maybe the reason Kyocera reps are dropping like flies due to "Reductions in Force" is partly because they fail to swallow their pride and take advantage of the "constructive criticism" provided by very experienced and talented individuals like yourself. Well, I know how much you guys hate my novels that I've bogged this site down with in the past so I'll stop here. Happy teching everyone! I'll pop in again to be sure Dummietek hasn't fallen off the deep end and/or gone postal. JK Dummie! Miss you guys!

Well thank you for the kind words my friend! But I don't come on here to provide any "leadership"... My intentions were to simply provide some tech support and GET some tech support! There's some major talent and skill and ideas provided here in DNET... and not just technical support (I get a lot of ideas from you guys so I can provide better leadership with my team here in South Carolina [mostly in the watercooler]). You just have to adjust your perspective to see it.
As for "losing me"... I guess I'm a bit like Airborne... I might disappear, but you can't get rid of me! I'm like the gum on the bottom of your shoe... no matter how much you try to scape me off, you just can't get it all! LOL. Anyways, I'm going to be trying to improve on several responsibilities I have and I think getting back to some of my roots will be very beneficial to do so. Therefore, you may start seeing my novels in here again a little more often. Always good to read your insight my friend! And don't be too hard on those that "judge" you... just remember that most people can only see things from their own perspective and no one else's matters. They have their own experiences in life that have developed their way of thinking just as yours have developed your way of thinking. They're just expressing their opinion and sometimes it can come off as sounding "personal", but it really isn't... it's simply a reaction to the "situation"... not you personally.
Later friends!
Dan Hill
