I have numerous printers at the same account that are displaying the add paper message when paper is present in the cassette. Has anyone seen this problem?

This should be posted under the In The Shop -BW for a quicker response. Did you check to make sure there is nothing behind the cassettes and the paper is indeed hitting the paper detection sensor.

Delete and repost in the service section. make sure the printer, driver and word processor are set the same size. word perfect and open office will screw this up sometimes

Check your paper present flag. The spring needs to be adjusted just right. I have had a few where the flag sticks straight down instead of flipping up when the customer closes the paper drawer. When this happens sometimes you can even see an indent in the top piece of paper when you open the tray because the end of the flag was pressing into it.

You may also want to see if the actuator is twisted. I had one that was twisted and causing the same problem. Had to replace the actuator.

Do you have the bypass tray set as the default tray and no paper in it?

is it calling for paper in the tray that has paper?
or the bi-pass?

alot of PDF problems these days
especially scanned docs that were scanned in A4 not letter so the default to bi-pass for universal size requests the paper
