I would be greatly appreciative if anyone could give me instructions on how to format the HD for a Savin 4022 before the freight company comes to pick up one of our customers' old machines. Thank you.

service mode 5832-1 will initialize all data on the HD but will not do a security overwrite. key in this: clearmodes 107 clearstop (hold). enter copier sp. code in 5832 001 and execute.
The only real way to wipe all info is to pull drive and overwrite in a computer or just pull the drive and destroy it. They do have data security options available as do all manufacturers but I doubt it was installed... KJG relic tech...... |

I have a Savin C4540 I removed the HDDs and did a DoD 3x overwrite. Installed back into machine and get a sc819 error. I am assuming they need formatted. The procedure above does not work. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks! Service Specialist CompTIA Certified A+ Technician Kyocera Color and B&W Certified Associate Degree in Specialized Technology: Computer Networking |

C4540 is a much different machine. I wouldn't have recommended that for this model.SC819 is only listed as a fatal error. You may try sp-5846-50 since you wiped out the address book. It may help.
