Has anyone changed the host buffer size. Could you tell me how you did it?

There are two ways to adjust host buffer size using the FRPO Prescribe command. The easiest method would be to use the "H0" parameter.

!R! FRPO H0,X; (X=0 to 99 in units of 10MB, 0 to 990MB)

The other way would be to use a combination of the S5 and H8 parameters.

!R! FRPO H8,X; (X=0 to 99 in units of the size determined by FRPO S5)

!R! FRPO S5,X; (X=0: 10kB x H8; X=1: 100kB x H8; X=2: 1024kB x H8)

To send these commands use the "TCP Send Data" function of KMnet Viewer and select Text.

But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

I would like you to know when you increase the host buffer size you are also slowing down the print speed since you are taking spooling rescources away from the printer. It seems like it should work the opposite but it does not.

While this was certainly true in models without hard drives, it was my understanding that with a hard drive the opposite was true - faster spooling occurred on the hard drive. Has anybody done a before and after on the TA's - and do these FRPO settings actually do anything on the TA's?

Relax? When?!
