Can a prescribe form be called from the CF Card on a Taskalfa 420i? It can be called from RAM. I can't get it uplaoded to the HDD or the CF card. I loaded the form on the CF card in another model but can't call it up in the 420i..

Are you using the multi-form creator to create it?

Are you using a logical port like 9101 to call it?

I did it on a falcon III and it is different than falcon II to call it from the CF card.

I need to do this next week on a TA-300ci.

Apparently the prospective customer has some kind of generic data that they want to overlay with their own logo/graphics etc.

I would think you could output to a document box and call that as the overlay through a prescribe macro in the print driver???

I am using FormMaker Pro 3.0 to upload the form. I havn't set up a printer via 9101. In the past I just install another printer and named it Invoice for example. It works on the 5016 in my office. On the 5016, after installing the CF Card with the form into the printer, I go into the menu and select Read Macro and I don't see that option on the 420i. I can call the macro from the RAM on the 420i, but that is only a temp storage place. As far as the document box, I don't know what that command would be.

You won't see a Read Macro option on the 420i.

Forget using FromMaker Pro for uploading to the newer generation printers (any that use Kyocera Command Center as the web interface). You will have to upload via IC-Link 3.0 and make certain to check the box that says "WiseCore Printer" in the upload dialog.

After doing that, turn the device off/on so it is read from the CF card into RAM. Then you can use the IC-Link Printer Tools to call the macro.

I've also had trouble saving macros to one type of printer and having it work installed into another type. That FS-C5016 is way too different from a 420i to even try doing that. Might work between a 4050 and a 420i, or other similar like that.

I have found that using the AMCR command works to call up a form.
A card built for an older model (falcon I or II) will not work. If you are upgrading an existing Kyocera copier/printer using a form built on a CF, you will have to build that card on a new wisecore machine.
I use IC LInk to build my cards. Wisecore does need to be checked when building the card.
I have also used the RWRF command to call up forms using the start of string in a logical printer.

I've just gotta ask this question:

If a copier has a hard drive, why aren't overlay functions available from the KX driver????
We should just be able to click on an 'Overlay' button and have a list of what's available in the boxes on the copier hard drive and select what we want overlayed.
