What's the deal with slow printing? I'm seeing more and more of it now. Lastest program is PrintShop Deluxe ver11, windows XP. Machine has 256 megs ram set host buffers, using ram disk and small uni driver, network and parrallel connections are S-L-O-W.
The computer is pretty fast P4 HT 2.8 Ghz, the prog spools a pretty big file, but once it gets to the printer it's one page at a time. I've seen previos post's with MS Publisher problems, I have experienced those also. How can they advertise a 17ppm machine, when some inkjets are keeping up with it?? It's killing the sale of these things, I don't know what to tell customers anymore.
Pro, there are many posts reference to the slow rip times of this machine, they do work well in some environments but as far as being a full blown network speed demon, I don't think that is realistic, I've learned the hard way. Even with ram maxed out [think it's 906] and a hard drive heavy graphic programs are handicapped with the slow processor speed [Chris L gives a good description of this]. Perhaps in the future they will upgrade the processor to compensate for this, or come up with an add on rip system to improve graphic performance.
