Hey everyone, we are trying to scan with an 1820 on a network with exchange server. Scan to email. We put in user name, password, exchange server address etc and it comes back with an 1101 error. Can anyone help?? Thanks. Sometimes I wonder "Why is that frisbee getting bigger" and then it hits me.

1101 send error when scans to e-mail Did not have SMTP enabled via Command Center? I go to kma connect and tech resources, knowledge base and help desk search and type in error code and it gives you ideas to check out

Sounds like authentication to me. Do they use ssl? Also 1105 is the error for not having SMTP enabled.

Exchange has to be configured to allow relaying for the local subnet (at the very least). There are a number of blocking/allowing options. I would verify stuff through telnet - you can get some pretty good simple information this way. I would use it from my own laptop, disconnect the copier, and set the laptop to the IP address of the copier. To use telnet with smtp open a command prompt and type: telnet serveripaddress 25 and hit enter where serveripaddress is the host name or ip address of the mail server. You should get a banner back with something like: 220 serveripaddress Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service ready at Fri, 6 Feb 2009 10:23:34 -600 then type: HELO mydomain.com and you should get back something like: 250 serveripaddress Hello youripaddress Relax? When?!
