Hi All
I have increased the memory to maximum on the copier and print board. I have the ram disk feature turned on. I am wondering what amount of memory I should set when the ram disk is turned on?

The main issue with this machine appears to be during print jobs the machine will stop printing. I know print error will show when out of paper but in this case a 50 page pdf duplex job as a random test will stop printing for no reason that I am aware of. Pushing the green print button will not restart job but going to the printer button and pushing go seems to restart the job.

Also all updates (firmware) has been done. I am going to try changing the emulation as a test. In this case I am printing directly to the machine via
tcp/ip from my laptop to get a network out the loop.

I appreciate any feedback.
Thanks
ED

I believe the formula is %30 of total for ram disk. There is a tech bulletin that covers this. This kind of sounds like a time out error. What OS is it printing from?

Did you change the FRPO settings (specifically H8)when you added the memory? Check the Software Solutions Technical Bulletins #1 for the settings.

Thanks for the replies. I will check the bulletin(s).
In this case for my testing I am using Windows
XP Pro on the laptop.
In the customers environment they are using a wide mix including a Unix server which I won't even consider getting involved in.
Thanks

There is a post here by EuroTek here that gives a pretty good description of setting up the FRPOs for improved speed. That in addition to the bulletin is a good start for setting the ram.

If the machine is still stopping in the middle of a print job with your laptop connected crossover, then you might want to pull out the new ram and try printing something again. Big Grin

I just printed out and looked over the information in the bulletin and the other info provided. The only think I need to mention is that the tech bulletin doesn't identify the KM-2550
product I am working with and the other document identified on this BBS is listed as a FSC5016 product.
It is all good information but I really want to have documentation specific to the product I am working on.
I will print out the service documents and look over as this indeed is a good starting point.
Thanks

Ed, the frpo settings are pretty standard for the machines as far as the print systems go, i.e. the settings for H8, S5, etc, etc. tech bulletin 1 is a generic document and it refers to ALL models.

Eurotechs frpo setting document is just an expansion of the bulletin in a way, and it also is applicable to all models.

I will check out the information closest to the product I am working on. I am sure I can change the settings and test
as needed.
