I cannot get this bad boy to work. Have tried authenticated and used user email settings straight from outlook. Anyone have any experience with this scenario?

Here's the setup that works for me:

SMPT = smtpout.secureserver.net
Port = 25 (or alternate of 80 if the internet provider blocks port 25)
No SSL, authenticate using valid account email address and password.

Less reliable is using SSL with port 465

Edit: also don't forget that this is a destination on the internet, so make sure that the DNS server is correct under the TCP/IP section or it won't go either.

I've got a customer using this. Frequent time outs. On the Falcon II's I can adjust the time out value, but on the VoyagerE's I cannot.

It's been a frustration for me. More so for the enduser. =^..^=

Scan to email will (and has) become more and more difficult. KMA needs to develop an option for a desktop integration package to scan to email clients as an alternative to SMTP.
This would get us all out of the need to jump through ever evolving hoops to prove the product works. Also many users prefer going back to their desktop and pulling up their own contact list and adding a personal message.
It's not rocket science - Sharpdesk has done it that way for a long time and has the added advantage of pushing the user's desktop connection information to the copier address book.
Also, if properly developed the utility could 'talk' to the copier on a regular basis, letting it know where it is on the network so that LAN DNS issues would no longer exist (pretty much like Dynamic DNS - the copier would maintain it's own local DNS list using check-in's from the utility).

My success in the industry - especially over the last few years - has been directly attributable to my ability to make these devices work in relatively screwed up network environments without having to place blame on the screwed up environment. The fact is that when I'm going up against a product that uses a client and it works on the demo without blaming the client's network setup or ISP, we all need to be able to do the same as quickly as those competitors do. I'm fortunate to have enough experience to be able to work around a lot of problems, but I'd rather not have to and I'd rather not have to get involved at all on what should be a simple demo installation!

Furthermore; with a well developed client app customers would be able to add workstations/users on by simply installing the software. While it's nice in theory to think we all make a bunch of money setting up new users and computers for scanning this ultimately will cost us customers if our options are more complex (and costly) than a competitors.

Relax? When?!

Chris L's info worked perfect. This is a real estate office and they are now saving $100 a month by canceling a fax service from their provider and forwarding their incoming faxes to email. This machine just paid for itself in their eyes and they are now a good Kyocera referral.
Thanks Chris for sharing your expertise.

Thanks to all for your thoughtful responses. Time will tell if this solution proves reliable. I am a little worried that ISP/Tel providers play games with us when they figure out we stole part of their lunch money. This customer is already being held hostage by the ISP as they have not yet switched their long published fax number over to the line used by the mfp though the request is over a week old now.

SMPT = smtpout.secureserver.net
Port = 3535
No SSL, authenticate using valid account email address and password.

Also make sure that Email Relay is turned on which is a per godaddy user setting
There may be a per day limit on smtp send such as 250 depending on the type of account you have with them
