I am sighned on as admin I'm using SFU 3.17.11 and my machine is a KM-3035 I can go to start-programs-scanner user software-right click and select "run as admin" and the SFU Icon shows up down by the clock, but I can not access configuration it just sit's there. I'm assuming it's a Vista permissions issue? I can turn it on and off just not access anything any ideas

If it is installed as a service you have to right click and 'Stop' the service before you can configure it.

Yes I right click the SFU Icon -stop-it- then go to configuration at that point after I click configuration thats when It does nothing just sits there. Although I can turn it on and off It will not let me create folder or when I double left click it does not bring up status screen just does nothing again?

This may be an issue with the credentials the service is using. I believe it usually uses 'System' credentials, but you can specify an administrative user.

Hold down the 'Windows' button and press 'R' - that'll give you the 'Run' dialog. Type in 'services.msc' and press enter.

Find the service - I think it was SFUVC or something and double click it. Click on 'Log On' and change it form the system account to known good administrator credentials.

Also, if you install the utility in 'Desktop' mode it uses the current user's credentials and there are apparently some other differences with 'Desktop' mode that may help.

Thanks Scoful that does appear to be the issue or something along those lines because I can load it on my personal laptop with Vista home and it operates as usual. One thing I did try at customers office when starting SFU I went start-programs-scanner user software-then when scanner file utility shows up instead double left click to open it I right clicked it and selected "run as administrator" although that did not work either I will do what you suggested next Thanks for the help!

There are actually two separate programs in service mode. Right clicking to start the GUI as an administrator still doesn't run the service as one.
