Just wondering what anybody else is doing to deal with ISP's like AT&T making scan to email difficult. I have considered setting up a dedicated smtp server for handling outbound SMTP communications for both print and scan systems for customers that are on DSL or have other issues with their ISP blocking standard SMTP communications. While talking to a new employee he suggested using port 80 for SMTP - since port 80 has to be open (much like Exchange's RPC over HTTP proxy) Has anybody tried doing this with any of the KM equipment? Relax? When?!

I've been using port 587 (Authenticated SMTP) for all our machines to avoid any residential port 25 blocks. Only annoying big-company firewalls have gotten in the way. I try to use the customer's mail server for scans, but counter reports go through our mail server (provided by a budget web host).
If I had a dedicated server with an extra IP available, I would definitely setup a SMTP server on port 80. Kyocera machines should work fine with it.
