I dont know if this issue has already been covered..if so, i apology. I have one that is using WIN 98 i believe.. has maxed out memory, using the KPDL, changed the H8 setting to 80 and s5 to 2. The job they are trying to print is just slow. They are lucky to get one page a minute. Any ideas would be appreciated. Chris

It's been covered, and we decided that the issue is slow CPU of raster processor of 5016. No solution for speeding up significantly. ================================================== Chris L's Hiking/Geocaching blog (new and improved!) yoyoartist.blogspot.com

Kinda figured that..thanks for the input. My Mita Rep is telling me that the uni/mini driver will slove that issue. Has anybody tried that driver?

I see you are using WIN 98. Is it taking a long time for the document to spool or to RIP after it has been sent to the printer? If it is taking a long time to RIP and the customer is trying to print multiple sets of the same document, a hard drive will help. With a HDD once the job has spooled and ripped to the HDD it should print 17 ppm after the first set. Depending on the size of the document, you could also try a RAM drive. With max memory I would set S6=50MB (RAM disk size) and S7=1 (RAM disk on) and make sure to enable the RAM disk in the device settings of the driver. Let us know what you find with the Uni driver. I would think if the computer is low on resources and it is taking a long time to spool the document the Uni driver should help. Added memory and turned RAM disk on and worked like a gem. Thanks for the information.
