Had a customer ask me if he could change the network speed on a 2050 machine (We've had this fix some offline issues before on 35 series machines). There doesn't appear to be a way to change this setting on these machines. I called tech support and they suggested using TELNET to connect to the machine and make the change. I was able to connect to the scanner NIC but not the printer. Has anybody else tried connnecting to the machines this way to make changes?
On another note...I am unable to update the printer NIC using the IBVerup utility. This appears to be the only way to update this on these models. The program scans the network but does not pull up the printer NIC, it does however find the NS-30 on the same machine.

You won't be able to update the printer NIC on a 2050, or any of the copiers/printers that use the "Kyocera Command Center" interface. I've never seen NIC firmware issued for that style interface either (I assume you are attempting to flash with IB-21 firmware, not correct).
Engineers, they just love to change things.

Thanks Chris. A guy said it best at training last week. "I don't have 20 years worth of experience, just 20 years worth of 1 year experience, because every year something changes. This way they'll have an excuse to perpetually pay me entry level wages."
I thought that fit well with the industry we're in.
Do you know anything about TELNET and these models? I can't get it to connect.
