Does anyone know the largest size compact flash card that can be used to update the firmware for the C2520/C3225/C3232? With the warning that you shouldn't downgrade from the latest firmware (204B)to prior versions, I want to use the correct size card.

I have seen my tech rep use a 2GB compact flash card. I think the size for that machine has to be 128MB or larger for firmware. I think as long as the firmware fits on the card it will be fine. Of course, Kyocera recommends those Buffalo cards as well, or at least the did for the Falcon 1 and 2 machines.

From what I recall the problem wasn't with the size of the card, but the Format used (If the printer formats it you don't have to worry about it).

It seems like they had to be formatted as FAT (or FAT16) and not FAT32 or NTFS.

The formatted size may be limited by the file system - older file systems don't support larger drive sizes - FAT16 normally only supports 2GB volume sizes....

Relax? When?!

I have used a 512MB Lexar Professional grade 80x speed card successfully. These are the cards all of our techs in my dealership have issued to them for firmware updates, and all were tested and confirmed to work with know problem Falcon II machines (specifically a pair of KM-4035's around the shop yet).

You are confusing the Falcon III models with the color Voyager series. The firware for the C2520/C3225/C3232 is about the same size as most other previous models. I fit it on a 16MB card (my fail-safe, flash anything card) and used it.

Sorry Chris, no confusion. The question being "Does anyone know the largest size compact flash card that can be used to update the firmware for the C2520/C3225/C3232?" My response is that I have seen my tech rep. use a 2GB (Lexar I believe)CF card.
Then sdds_ca was talking about the new 204b firmware which is Falcon 3 I believe. I wasn't exactly confusing the two, it was just put out there (questions and answers) in a confusing manner. Sorry about the confusion.
