CS-250ci Network Fax Driver not workingGo ![]() | New ![]() | Find ![]() | Notify ![]() | Tools ![]() | Reply ![]()

I have a CS-250ci where the fax driver stopped working. It would indicate the model and port were not consistant and fail. It just recently started to occur. I had the same issue with the former print driver saying the same thing but it would print even when it would error. I corrected this issue by updating the driver to the xps version. That was the only print driver that would find the copier on the network through discovery but none of the other drivers would. I cannot get any of the fax drivers to find the copier through discovery thus they error. Only the fax driver fails from the error. The firmware on the copier is at 7.1 so I know there is a firmware upgrade available. The driver is shared from the server running windows 2003. Anyone else having issues with print drivers?

to the above issue. The exact error from the print send is: The selected TCP IP address is connected to a network printer that does not match the current printer. Select a TCP IP port that matches the current print driver.

I have seen this error. It comes when you install the incorrect model number print driver. IE: 300ci driver installed but the copier is a 250ci, or else selected a CS model from the list when it's a KM model. There could be an IP or hostname conflict going on with another device on the network too. Could be trying to deliver to some other 250ci entirely. ================================================== Chris L's Hiking/Geocaching blog (new and improved!) yoyoartist.blogspot.com

I was thinking the fax driver did not work on a server, I could be wrong I have not looked at the new machine

You are correct Todd, I missed that tidbit of information. You cannot share a network fax print driver, it must be installed to the local workstation that is doing the printing.

I was wondering how he was able to do this cause if he figured out a way to install the NW Fax driver on a server and share it to work properly, man I wanna know how.

Now that we know we cannot share the fax driver, the fact that the network fax will not automatically discover the unit on the network appears to be the issue. Now that we know we cannot share the fax driver, the fact that the network fax will not automatically discover the unit on the network appears to be the issue. I have been told to connect a laptop loaded with the latest fax driver and kprint port and connect directly to the unit with a crossover cable and see if the driver will find the unit through discovery. If so, then there must be some form of blockage on this network not allowing the fax driver to auto sense the unit. The new print driver is finding it fine. The fax driver is not shared out from the server it is simply locally connected to individual pc's.
