Does anybody have one of these hooked up to scan to? If so how is it hooked up? From what I understand it can only work through the email server, is this correct? Any info would be appreciated. Chris

That's correct, scan to email only for this. There needs to be an email server running on the LAN with SMTP email delivery. No problem when setup on my showroom because we have a local email server connected to the internet also. In a customer installation without an email server, they can install email server software and configure a single SMTP account to transport the file to a email client (such as MS Outlook Express). There are freeware and shareware servers available that work quite well for this simplified application. I won't get into the specfics for setup though. ================================================== Chris L's Hiking/Geocaching blog (new and improved!) yoyoartist.blogspot.com

I hooked one up on our network, used the new Command Center Web browser, plugged in the usual IP addresses as with the other machines and it did scan to email fine. Using the machine control panel is a little different, like I found out with the 1650 but it was really not that difficult. You do need a machine running smtp.

Most ISP provide you with a mail account that gives you access to an SMTP server. We have used this many times in the past. If they want the file they just email it to themselves and save the attatchment.
