What is better to use a Wireless print server or a Wireless ethernet bridge on a C4035E. The majority of print servers have 4 usb and 1 ethernet bridge, which makes me think why not just use 10/100 for both print and scan via the ethernet bridge. Are there positive or negative reasons for one or the other? Thank you for your help!
A bridge that has a multiple-port switch built in is the best way. Connect both the print and scan to the ports and they will function like they are on a wired LAN, once the wireless bridge part has been properly configured.
We used to use a Netgear-branded wireless bridge/print server that had 2 USB printer ports and a 5 port switch all-in-one. The printer ports were ignored, we just used the LAN ports. Unfortunately that particular device has been out of production for over a year now, and quite unavailable now. We did solve a number of wireless-only installations that way.
You could even use that device to plug in computers. Was a great way to get into the secured wireless network without having to know the password.
