Have a customer who had a scheduled power outage in order to move their network closet to a different location within the same building.
Ever since then, periodically, on two different copiers their print jobs will be followed by error pages: "PCL XL error Subsystem: KERNEL Error: IllegalTag (also IllegalOperatorSequence, MissingAtribute) Operator: 0x30 (also ReadChar, ReadFontHeader,0x36) Position: 335 (also 357,356) The didn't upgrade their cat5, routers, switches etc. They didn't touch any PCs or the copiers themselves. Thanks in advance! |

Catch me if you can! |
My first step would be to set the default emulation to KPDL-Auto on the printer panel.

Imaging god |
What models are we talking about?
Perhaps there is some driver corruption. Some of the older models with the older drivers had so many XL errors that I would always run them in PCL-5 or KPDL modes. Relax? When?! |

If you are using the KX driver...change the PDL inside the print driver to PCL 5e..I have run across this issue many times and changing to PCL 5e seems to be the fix.

Thank guys. I will play with the emulations.... I just thought it was bizarre since all drivers are installed locally, and it's happening on two different copiers (2550,3530)
