This is just an opinion poll. Does everybody setup their copiers with print/scan in the shop and test them before the install? Or do you wait to set them up in the customers office and deal with a problem then? Aborted installs do not reflect well on you with the customer.
Just curious! Cool2

If possible we try to set everything up inhouse and test prior to installing at the customer. Also all mods and firmware are updated at that time.

In house! I always do a full-up function and acceptance-check and 24-hour burn-in before delivery; doing this will help you maintain your sanity and maintain face with your customer-base! Picture setting it up on site and having it go tits-up with the customer GLARING over your shoulder!

In house; we always try to test in house. Depending on the technicians skill level, depends on if a full test is completed or just print.

We always set-up and test print and scan functions in the shop before the instal, just to be sure the basics are o.k., especially since we've had a dead nic card a few times and that can have you chasing your tail.

In house if at all possible. The only time you have a problem is if you try to deliver without pretesting.

We always try to do it inhouse before we take it out. Just in case you run into a bad print borad or NIC or whatever.

I recommend the print systems be setup and tested in house. The scan cards are a simple matter of"if you can see it in Admin, it works". I also recommend that if you set an IP address for testing, set the card back to DHCP before delivery. Doing this will cause the machine to pick up addresses(DNS,Gateway,WINS,etc) when you first powerup at the customer site. Then all you needto do is turn off DHCP and plug in the last 1 or 2 octets of the IP.
