I have a new install with two 4000DN’s with the sleep mode maxed out. They are printing very simple one page packing lists from Linux. After the printer has set for a few minutes, 3 or 4, the first page time out is 15 seconds, if they print to it again right away the first page out is 6 seconds. If they send additional print jobs to it they come out in 6 seconds or so, now if the printer sits idle for a little while, maybe a few minutes, the first print out will take 15 seconds again.
I don’t believe this is a driver or network issue. When they send the job the data light comes on immediately then the display reads processing. To be consistent I have tested it reprinting the same packing list. I installed the latest firmware as of yesterday, H8=25, S1=2. The spec sheet says first page out 9 seconds or less then in parentheses it says (ECOfuser off). I searched all the manuals, called tech support and nothing on ECOfuser.
Any ideas appreciated,

All I see in the service manual specs is a first out time for A4 of 24 seconds. The other specs are for warm up time with no reference to output speed. That is looking at rev.5 of the manual which is the latest I think.
Y2 says "On Demand Mode". It is my guess that by setting it to a 1 you are keeping the fuser at a ready temperature. Y2 is an FRPO setting. The easiest way to set it is through the command center with a web browser.
